Introduction

Riverside County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) is committed to providing protection from abuse and neglect to all of the population that we serve. Our dynamic team of caring individuals is dedicated to helping clients develop, maintain and strengthen individual and family life. DPSS Inspections Branch is committed to identifying and eliminating fraud so we can dedicate our resources to the people who are entitled to receive it.

Riverside County Welfare Fraud Investigators are sworn Peace Officers under 830.35-PC of the State of California, Penal Code who conduct fraud investigations, internal investigations, and locate runaway children under the jurisdiction of DPSS.  (To report fraud, see below).

Riverside County Investigative Technicians conduct preventative fraud interviews of customers, review customer applications, and verify facts provided by customers at application to prevent fraud.
